This happened a few months ago, on May 23, 2008.
I was on my way to Mitra International Hospital from the office. It was around 5.30. So, I took an "ojek" ride to Jl. Baru, then I continued by Mikrolet 44.
All the way to the hospital, my mind was filled with loads of thoughts. Then, the mikrolet arrived at Kp. Melayu. I got off, and stepped on the sidewalk. This is when it happened. When I was going to take another mikrolet to the hospital, I stepped down from the sidewalk, which was quite high. Then, "breg!" My poor right ankle. OH MY GOD!
I knew it in instance that it got hurt pretty bad. Then I sat on the sidewalk trying to calm myself down. After a few deep breath and feeling that I was ok, i reached for my cell-phone. My plan was to call my Mom who was already in the hospital, waiting for my aunt who was in chemotherapy. Then, i stood up, and stepped on the side-walk again.
But suddenly, my vision started to blur. I FAINTED!! The next thing I remember was, two guys helping me and took me to their garage. They sat me on a chair, but then I fainted again. And the next thing I remember was waking up on a spring bed, with a nice young woman sitting next to me.
She offered me a glass of water. Then I sipped it a little. Taking a moment to wake up from my "absence". Then she made me a glass of warm sweet tea. After I drank it, she asked whether I have somebody to call or let know about my condition. So, I asked for my cell-phone.
THANK GOD! My cell-phone was safe. She handed me the cell-phone and i called my mom, who did not answer it. Then I call my aunt's cell-phone. When she answered, I asked for my mom. Then she gave it to her.
Still quite dazed, I told her what happened. And no surprise, she got panicked!!! Asking me where I was, so she can pick me up. Then my other aunt called me a few seconds later. She asked my location was. Since I did not know the exact address I handed the phone to the woman, whose name happened to be Mba Dini. She explained to my aunt the location. Then all I did was wait for her.
About half an hour later, and a brief conversation with Mba Dini, my aunt came. Then, after saying thank u to all the people in the garage, she took me to the hospital by car.
SO, I got in the Emergency Room. The doctor also told me to have an x-ray. To find out whether the ankle was broken, or what. Thank god it was just twisted. So he recommended for me to rest for 3 days. So I did not go to the office the next day.
Long story short, the next morning I couldn't walk at all. My parents already called for "tukang urut" to fix this injury. And boy! It felt like hell! When the "tukang urut" massaged my ankle.
Till now, my foot still hurt a little bit each time I squat...
